We are delighted to announce that Shackleton’s has been awarded Origin Green Gold Membership by Bord Bia, recognising our continued progress and performance against our sustainability targets.
Origin Green is Ireland’s national food and drink sustainability programme, bringing together food and drink companies from across the country with a shared commitment to improving the sustainability of how food is produced.
Gold Membership recognises companies that have demonstrated exceptional performance in delivering against their annual sustainability targets.
For Shackleton’s, this recognition is particularly important because sustainability has become an increasingly integral part of how we operate our business.
Turning Sustainability Commitments into Action
As a food ingredients business with a history stretching back more than 160 years, we understand the importance of thinking beyond the immediate needs of today.
Our approach focuses on practical improvements that can make a measurable difference across our operations.
We continue to invest in areas including on-site solar energy generation, more energy-efficient equipment and technology, and initiatives to reduce and recycle food and packaging waste.
Responsible sourcing is also an important part of this approach. Wherever possible, we work with local suppliers and source Irish-grown grains, potatoes and other ingredients, supporting Irish agriculture while helping to reduce the environmental impact of our supply chain.

Achieving Origin Green Gold Membership is ultimately the result of the combined efforts of people throughout the Shackleton’s business.
From sourcing and production through to quality, operations and management, delivering meaningful sustainability improvements requires a commitment across the organisation.

Gold Membership is an achievement we are very proud of, but sustainability is an ongoing process.
